- Classified the MNIST digit dataset using a convolutional neural network (CNN) with learned features from an autoencoder (AE)
- Classified 64x64 color images of cats, dogs, cars, and airplanes using a CNN with learned features from a color AE
- Kaggle Challenge: Statoil/C-CORE Iceberg Classifier. Trained a CNN to distinguish radio images of icebergs or ships. Used filtering data augmentation, pseudolabeling, and a Variational AE.
- Kaggle Challenge: Plant Seedling Classification. Trained a CNN to classify pictures of 12 plant seedlings. Used kfolds, t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding, and PCA data augmentation

Aided in developing a nanoparticle based subunit Salmonella oral vaccine to use in poultry to reduce colonization and shedding of Salmonella
- Dissected and collected various organs, contents, and blood from over 60 chickens infected with the food poisoning bacteria Salmonella
- Extracted DNA and RNA from cecal content and cecal tonsils for genetic analysis
